We design spaces for makers.

OPA is a multidisciplinary design and architecture studio with a focus on creating spaces for Makers. With deep experience in zoning, permitting and design, we build places that artfully combine manufacturing, hospitality and entertainment; spaces that invite folks to interact with makers as they practice their craft. From breweries, to distilleries, to roasters, each space we design connects the public to the maker’s process, revealing the humanity and craft in each of their products.

Makers Spaces

OPA Design Studio is an architecture firm specializing in hospitality, commercial, and experience driven spaces where what you make is part of what brings people through the door. We design breweries, distilleries, wineries, restaurants, recreation spaces, and other destination driven businesses where operations and guest experience need to work together.

We call them Maker Spaces: places designed around what you create, how your business operates, and how people experience it. From production and planning to hospitality and gathering spaces, we design the whole environment to work as one.

Commercial Spaces

OPA works with business owners, developers, and property owners to turn commercial spaces and properties into places that work better for the people who use them and the businesses behind them.

Our commercial architecture experience includes ground up development, adaptive reuse, tenant improvements, renovations, offices, retail, mixed use projects, and recreation spaces. From evaluating an existing property to planning something entirely new, we consider site conditions, code, circulation, operations, flexibility, and long term use early in the process, helping clients make informed decisions and get more from their investment.

Living Spaces

Spaces to gather together with family and friends. Residential, multi-family, and mixed-use environments that people call home.

OPA Design Studio works with business owners, developers, and brands across 15 states, bringing experience with different markets, jurisdictions, building types, and project needs.

We are licensed in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. Wherever the project takes us, we bring the same practical approach to architecture, planning, and getting good ideas built.

Pinthouse Pizza

Pinthouse Pizza is a craft brewpub whose goal is to serve award-winning beer and amazing pizza in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We worked with the Pinthouse Team to design and build exterior and interior spaces that reflect their commitment to quality and community.

We were thrilled to partner with OPA Design on our Round Rock development. From initial concept exploration to design and construction, the entire team at OPA was a pleasure to collaborate with on the project.”

Tyler Norwood, Pinthouse Pizza

Working with Stephen to build Twisted X was a pleasure. His patience and calming demeanor was so refreshing during a stressful buildout. The leadership that Stephen provided to the team was invaluable. I am so confident with his talent that he has been retained for the next project which has just begun.”

Jim Sampson, Twisted X Brewery

OPA was a great partner as we built out our production facility and tasting room. Their understanding of the brewing process helped us design a production layout that is ideal for workflow and efficiency.”

Devon Ponds, CEO, Friends & Allies Brewing

Out of all the design professionals I’ve worked [with] through the years, OPA’s team delivered an excellent mix of professionalism, detail orientation, and open-ended creativity. The design was thorough, quality, and thought out; now the space is a pleasure to be in and the public are interacting with it the way it was intended. Their design works.”

Mac Crawford, Sedona Beer Company

The Team at OPA helped me along the way with my first brewery project. The build out was something I had no prior experience with and now that it is completed, I know I would not be able to have done it without their help.”
